A pupil of the primary school serving the housing estate of Luník IX in Slovakia has saved the life of a man who collapsed at a bus stop. Natálie Gažiová's heroism is an example many adults should follow.

“According to the pupil, the gentleman at the bus stop suffered some kind of attack, fell to the ground and was shaking. He sustained injuries during his fall and was bleeding. The pupil noticed he was banging his head against the ground, so she grabbed him and did her best to keep him from hurting himself until the ambulance arrived. Another person ran over to aid her,” the Ludmila Podjavorinská 1 Primary School serving Košice’s Luník IX housing estate posted to its social media profile; Gažiová is in class 8A there.

She immediately told the story of what happened to her teacher, who arrived on the next bus. The ambulance at the stop, the traces of blood and the young student’s shocked expression were clear evidence of her heroism.

“Who knows how this could have turned out if she hadn’t been there… Let’s be honest – what would we have done if we were in her place?” the school rhetorically asks on its social media platform, where a wave of admiration has been expressed for the pupil.
