Abstract

The present invention includes a method and a computer-implemented system for detecting power outage. In particular, the method comprises receiving a message from a device, determining a feeder associated with the device, evaluating message received from a first plurality of devices connected to the feeder, probing a second plurality of devices connected to the feeder and determining a power outage of the device. Also, the invention includes a device and a method for reporting power outage. In particular, the device comprises a power-monitoring module for sensing a loss of power, a communication module for communicating the loss of power via a network.
