Wenn der Sensor 34 ein eingestecktes CAM 26 erkennt, setzt er das Signal auf der Steuerleitung CD von T auf O' (Pos. 50 in Fig. 2). Gleichzeitig bewirkt die Signalflanke auf der CD- Leitung das Umschalten des Multiplexers 32. Damit sind die Steuerleitungen von der Steuereinheit 12 zum internen CAM 20 unterbrochen. Stattdessen sind die WAIT- und IRQ-Leitungen von dem Steckplatz 24 mit den entsprechenden Eingängen an der Steuereinheit 12 verbunden. Dagegen sind die von der Steuereinheit wegführenden Signalleitungen RST und CE nicht mehr mit den Signalleitungen RST_CAM bzw. CE_CAM zum internen CAM 20 verbunden, sondern nur noch mit dem Steckplatz 24. Die RST- und CE-Leitungen zum Steckplatz 24 werden nicht über den Multiplexer 32 geführt, da sie am Steckplatz 24 sowieso freiliegen, wenn kein externes CAM 26 eingesteckt ist. Die Steuerleitungen RST_CAM und CE_CAM zum internen CAM 20 sind jetzt über den Multiplexer 32 mit einem festen Potential, das dem Signal einer logischen T entspricht, verbunden, so daß an den entsprechenden Eingängen des internen CAM 20 das Signal '1' anliegt (Pos. 54, 56 in Fig. 2). Dadurch ist das interne CAM 20 außer Funktion gesetzt.
