示例性实例详细描述

业务规则确定如何产生对出版商通知的反应。如，发行人可决定他们感兴趣的只在专门内容的题目，比如安全。发行人对那些费用小于50美元的内容才有批准观看权和筛去其他权利。发行人也可决定有权提高出版商价格的10％或2美元，以哪个较小来算。发行人也可以决定从特定的出版商至某些地区如，北美的发行的限制。业务规则也可修改价格如，设定出租价格，租期小于5天，每天1.99美元，租期长于5天，每天1.49美元。业务规则也可事先限定和贮存于发行系统500的业务规则数据库中。

图8的流程图是由出版系统通过“推”所要求的，或由发行人本身通过“拉”而周期地安排的。一种发行人系统如图7所示可使用图8所概述的控制例行程序来周期地检查出版系统是否可有新的内容。应用于步骤S604的业务规则可使权利范围变窄和/或改变条件。图8的控制例行程序还可改进，以提供成批方式地处理多元件。步骤S612和S616也是任选的。此内容可在往后的发行时接收。
步骤S616可修改元数据，使其适合发行人和权利规格说明。在步骤S616，控制例行程序根据业务规则处理权利规格说明中的元数据。此类客户化包括只批准看权于客户和筛去另外权利或修改销售价格，但涨价均由一定百分比。概述于图8的示例性控制例行程序根据如从出版商处所收到的处理和筛去信息来自动地把新的项目输入至发行人的目录表。
本发明的系统和方法还提供使用户(如，发行人)能编辑业务规则的业务规则接口(未示出)。如此接口可提供产生业务规则的能力，此规则可识别内容，修改元数据，选择提供的权利，改变费用和其他条件等。
在步骤S618所产生的目录表项目可提供任何数量的识别数据如，内容识别，注册识别，内容元数据，内容资源库，使用权利，封页图像之类。示于图2和图7的接口可自包括输入字母-数字输入的键板，操纵光标的光标控制器件，显示视频输出的显示器之类。键板是标准的QWERTY键板，也可以是键盘或之类。光标控制器件如，鼠标或跟踪球一般都有一个与其有关的对某些作用的功能可编程的按钮或开关。
用任何软件和硬件的组合可方便地实施本文揭示的方法和系统。如，提供可用于多种计算机或工作站硬件平台的可移式源代码的面向对象的软件开发环境可用来实施本发明。另外是，在部分地或全部地使用逻辑电路的硬件中来实施本文所揭示的系统。然而上述的系统和方法由应用技术的专业人员根据本文提供的功能说明不用做过多的实验，并结合计算机技术的一般知识，利用已有的和今后开发的系统，或结构，装置和/或软件以硬件和/或软件的方式可方便地加以实施。
又，此揭示的方法和系统可方便地以软件在可编程通用计算机，专用计算机，可编程控制器之类上加以执行而实施。在此情况下，本发明的方法和系统可作为一种控制例行程序在个人计算机上得以实施如，Java或CGI(计算机图形接口)脚本作为驻留在服务器上的资源，或作为例行程序嵌入于专门的出版系统，Web浏览器，出版系统工作的服务器电话，PDA(个人数字助理)，专用出版系统之类。
可以理解，本发明的系统和方法不限于出版数字式内容。更可以理解为，本发明的出版系统可用到任何类型内容或任何类型出版商出版过程的至少一些部分得以自动化。如，本发明可由常规的内容出版商所采用如，专门从事于书本，电子书本，音乐，艺术之类出版商。本发明也可由任何管理文件的单位所采用如，需要控制艺术出版的艺术博物馆，不论它是绘画，音乐，雕塑之类都在内。总之，任何类型的单位都可用本发明来出版任何类型的内容。
本发明的一实例包括发行人GUI接口，如示于图9-12。图9示出用于修改发行人的目录表或“贮存前方”的发行人系统的示例性GUI 900。用户使用日期字段902选择一个日期，从这日期询问出版系统服务器确定是否有任何新的内容需要加到目录表中。
图10示出可使用户观看内容通知和同意或删除目录表中内容的发行人系统的示例性GUI 1000。GUI 1000包括修改有关内容的元数据的字段1002，价格和费用字段1004，修正产品列示按钮1006和删除产品列示按钮1008。
图11示出专门内容的目录表1102用的GUI 1100的示例性实例。图11的GUI可使用户与发行人系统相互交往，以接收内容访问。GUI 1000包括内容说明1102和顾客可购买内容的按钮1104。
图12是发行人系统的示例性GUI 1200，它包括来自发行人目录表的内容表1202和提供用户选择内容进行编辑的链路1204。
因此，很显然，现已按照本发明提供出版内容的系统和方法。当本发明接合事例于此描述的同时，也很清楚，对那些应用技术的专业人员来说，还会有许多另外方法，改进和改变。因而，本文申请人想包含在本发明精神和范围内随之而来的所有此类的另外方法，改进和改变。

Claims (43)

1.一种出版内容的方法，此方法包含：
一出版系统接收来自所述出版系统的用户的内容选择，所述选择标识内容的一项目；
所述出版系统接收来自所述出版系统的用户的请求来出版所选择的内容；其特征在于，
响应于来自所述出版系统的用户的请求，所述出版系统通告出版所述内容，所述通告是通过向一发行人系统提供一通知，所述通知至少包含下列之一：对所述内容的描述、所述内容的元数据、内容标识符，出版商信息、内容知识库指示和权利规格标识符；
基于接收到通知，所述发行人系统产生一响应，使用所述通知和存贮在数据库中的预定的业务规则；所述的发行人系统根据预定业务规则确定是否发行人对由所述通知所指定的内容感兴趣；
所述发行人系统提供回应至所述出版系统；
所述出版系统确定所述回应是否表示发行人系统是感兴趣的；
只有所述出版系统确定所述发行人系统是感兴趣的，所述出版系统提供元数据和权利规格至所述发行人系统；所述的元数据是标识符以及对所述内容的描述性数据，而所述的权利规格至少是下列之一：获取的权利，使用的权利和伴随的条件。
2.如权利要求1所述的方法，其特征在于，其中发行人系统进一步地使用预定规则来缩小由权利规格所决定的权利且/或改变由权利规格所定义的条件，使得为用户提供定制的权利。
3.如权利要求1所述的方法，其特征在于，所述预定规则包含至少下列之一：内容类型喜好、权利和条件、喜好、内容主题和出版商。
4.如权利要求1所述的方法，其特征在于，所述的元数据包括描述和标示所述内容的数据。
5.如权利要求4所述的方法，其特征在于，元数据包括至少下列之一：内容标识符、题目、作者名字、出版商名字、出版日期、图像和对内容的描述。
6.如权利要求5所述的方法，其特征在于，内容标识符是至少下列之一：国际标准书号ISBN、数字式对象标识符DOI、统一资源标识符URI以及国会图书馆控制号LCCN。
7.如权利要求1-6中任一项所述的方法，其特征在于，所述权利规格包括至少下列之一：印刷、观看、演出、摘要和出口的权利。
8.如权利要求7所述的方法，其特征在于，元数据是基于一用户轮廓、默认元数据、至少一推理规则和/或对于所选择的内容的一分析之上。
9.如权利要求8所述的方法，其特征在于，进一步包含由出版系统创建权利规格。
10.如权利要求9所述的方法，其特征在于，所述出版系统创建权利规格是基于一用户轮廓、默认权利规格、一推理规则，和/或对于所选则的内容的一分析之上。
11.如权利要求10所述的方法，其特征在于，权利规格包括至少一使用权利和出现该使用权利的条件。
12.如权利要求11所述的方法，其特征在于，还包括创建出版轮廓，所述出版轮廓包括至少一出版商标识符和有关至少出版商、发行人和注册单位其中之一之间以前存在的协议的信息。
13.如权利要求11所述的方法，其特征在于，还包括创建出版轮廓，所书出版轮廓包括有关至少发行人和促销商其中之一的信息，通过该发行人和促销商，所述内容的某一类型至少可能被加以进行下列之一：发行、存档和注册。
14.如权利要求12或13所述的方法，其特征在于，所述出版轮廓是基于一用户轮廓、一默认出版轮廓、至少一个推理规则和/或对于所选择的内容的一分析之上。
15.如权利要求14所述的方法，其特征在于，还包含由所述出版系统确认出版的请求。
16.如权利要求15所述的方法，其特征在于，所述的用户是出版商。
17.如权利要求15所述的方法，其特征在于，所述提供元数据和权利规格至所述发行人系统的步骤包含向至少一个发行人发送一出版通知。
18.如权利要求16所述的方法，其特征在于，所述提供元数据和权利规格至所述发行人系统的步骤进一步地包括接收来自至少一个发行人回应。
19.如权利要求18所述的方法，其特征在于，进一步包含如果来自至少一个发行人的回应指示所述发行人想要发行该内容，为所述发行人包装所述内容。
20.如权利要求19所述的方法，其特征在于，用户是发行人或内容创建者。
21.如权利要求20所述的方法其特征在于，进一步包括包装所述内容。
22.如权利要求21所述的方法，其特征在于，所述包装步骤包含发送内容至发行人。
23.如权利要求21所述的方法，其特征在于，所述包装步骤包含贮存内容到至少贮存设备或存储库和发行媒体其中之一。
24.如权利要求21所述的方法，其特征在于，所述包装步骤包含加密所述内容。

29.如权利要求28所述的方法，其特征在于，所述注册提供事务的步骤包含贮存事务信息于事务数据库中。
30.如权利要求29所述的方法，其特征在于，所述提供元数据和权利规格至所述发行人系统的步骤包含：
准备包括元数据和权利规格的通知；以及发送通知至发行人。
31.如权利要求30所述的方法，其特征在于，还包含使用至少一发行人业务规则来确定发行人是否想要发行所选择的内容，以及基于所述确定来提供元数据和权利规格至所述发行人系统。
32.如权利要求31所述的方法，其特征在于，还包含接收来自发行人回应，以及基于所述回应来提供元数据和权利规格至所述发行人系统。
33.如权利要求32所述的方法，其特征在于，还包含由发行人系统根据元数据和权利规格来更新发行人目录表。
34.如权利要求33所述的方法，其特征在于，还包含由发行人系统根据发行人业务规则修改元数据和权利规格其中之一。
35.一种出版内容的系统，此系统包含：
贮存至少一种内容的内容数据库；以及
与内容数据库通信的处理器，所述处理器通过用户接口响应出版内容的请求，提供有关所述内容的元数据、权利规则到至少一发行人，所述的元数据是标示和描述所述内容的数据而所述的权利规格是至少下列之一：获取的权利、使用的权利和伴随的条件；其特征在于，
所述出版内容的系统是适用于，响应于出版内容的请求，通过提供一通知来通告一发行人系统；所述通知包括包含至少下列之一：对内容的描述、内容的元数据、内容标示符、出版商信息、内容知识库指示和权利规格标示符；
所述出版内容的系统适用于接收一来自所述出版系统的响应；
所述出版内容的系统适用于确定是否所述的响应指示所述发行人系统对于由所述提供的信息的所指定的内容感兴趣；以及
所述出版内容的系统适用于只有当所述出版系统已经确定所述发行人系统是感兴趣的时候，提供元数据和权利规格给所述的发行人系统。
36.如权利要求35所述的系统，其特征在于，进一步地包括元数据数据库，存储所述的元数据。
37.根据权利要求35所述的系统，其特征在于，适用于根据权利要求1至34其中之一来实施一种方法。
38.一种内容发行人系统，包括：

用于与出版系统通信的界面；以及
与界面和目录数据库通信的处理器；其特征在于，
所述内容出版系统进一步地包含业务规则数据库，适用于存储至少一个预定的业务规则；以及
所述处理器响应于来自出版系统的一元数据库和一的权利规格，来确定是否将所提供的元数据库和权利规格存储在目录数据库中，其中所述确定使用存储在所述业务规则数据库中的预定的业务规则和从出版系统接收到的通知信息，所述通知信息包含至少下列之一：对内容的描述、内容的元数据、内容标示符、出版商信息、内容知识库标示和权利规格标示符。
39.如权利要求38所述的系统，其特征在于，所述的处理器响应于所述确定的结果来存储元数据和权利要求规格于目录数据库中。
40.如权利要求39所述的系统，其特征在于，所述的处理器进一步响应于所述确定的结果，基于预定的规格来修改元数据和权利规格；所述预定规格确定是否发行人系统对由所述信息所指定的内容感兴趣。
41.如权利要求38所述的系统，其特征在于，进一步包括：
与处理器通信的消费者界面；以及
消费者数据库，与所述处理器通信，其中所述消费者数据库存储至少条消费者轮廓。
42.如权利要求38所述的一种系统，其特征在于，进一步地包括一事务数据库，与所述的处理器通信，其中所述的处理器响应于来自所述出版系统的元数据和权利规格存储至少一条事务记录于事务数据库中。
43.如权利要求35所述的系统，其特征在于，进一步包括如权利要求38或39其中之一所述的发行人系统。
