About the author (2017)

Christine Gleason, M.D. is an academic neonatologist and Professor Emeritus of Pediatrics at University of Washington and Seattle Children's Hospital. She recently retired from clinical practice and now devotes her time and effort to professional society leadership (Secretary-Treasurer of the American Pediatric Society; member of the Pediatric Policy Council); educational scholarship (Co-Editor of Avery's Diseases of the Newborn); Board certification (Medical Editor at the American Board of Pediatrics); and advisory/consulting activities (FDA Pediatric Advisory Committee; Data Safety & Monitoring Committee of the NIH's Maternal-Fetal Medicine Clinical Trials Network).
