First published in 1886, "Beyond Good and Evil: Prelude to a Philosophy of the Future" by German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche espoused observations of general truths, further expanding on his previous work, Thus Spoke Zarathustra. Nietzsche's work discusses the theory of the "will to truth," an individual's desire to rationally seek their objective, absolute truth. Beyond Good and Evil challenged many moral philosophers the 19th century, arguing the divide between good and evil is not black and white. This deconstructive critique of moral philosophy determines morality is relative to the circumstances you find yourself in, rather than absolute practices.
