Vincent F. Petronella is a Professor of English, Emeritus, at the University of Massachusetts Boston. He received his B.A. degree from The City College/ City University of New York, his M.A. from the University of Oregon, and his Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. As teacher, author, and lecturer, his main interest is the work of Shakespeare. His publications are found in journals, annuals, and festschrifts such as Shakespeare Studies, Approaches to Teaching "King Lear" (Modern Language Association), Studies in Philology, Die Neueren Sprachen, Theatre Journal, Review of English Studies, Études anglaises, and In the Company of Shakespeare. For the past ten years at Beacon Hill Seminars in Boston he has been offering courses primarily on Shakespeare but also on Keats, Hawthorne, Melville, the Brownings, George Bernard Shaw, Oscar Wilde, and Verbal and Visual Art in Dialogue.
