About the author (1998)

ELLEN M. CHEN is Professor of Philosophy at St. John's University in Jamaica, New York. She lectures and teaches on the subject of Taoism and oriental philosophy. She has written numerous articles for journals, including Philosophy East and West and History of Religions.
