"Utopia 2016: A year of imagination and possibility presents four seasons of activity celebrating the 500th anniversary of More's Utopia. Published in Leuven in December 1516, More's Utopia offers an imaginative and playful vision of the world as it could be at a time of great change. More's Utopia is deliberately ambigious: both 'no place' and 'good place'. He is also clear that many other visions for a better society are possible. In the book, More described the language of the island Utopia and proposed an alphabet associating each Latin letter with its Utopian equivalent. 500 years later, this edtion offers a transliteration of the English text into a new Utopian alphabet for the first time.
