The extraordinary friendship between Anna and Fynn began on a foggy night in the East End of London some thirty-five years ago. Fynn was wandering down by the docks when he came across a bruised and terrified four-year-old girl in the gutter. Somehow he knew right away that he and the little runaway were made for each other, and he took Anna home to his warmhearted Irish "Mum."
