About the author (1999)

John Peel was born in Nottingham, England in 1954. At the age of 27, he sold a comic strip to Marvel Comics. He moved to New York in 1981 to marry his pen-pal, Nan Taylor. He became the editor of Fantasy Empire. He is best known for writing tie-in novels for television series including Doctor Who, The Avengers, Star Trek, and James Bond Jr. Uptime, Downtime, his first original novel, was published in 1992. He has written under various pen names including Nicholas Adams, John Vincent, Rick North and J.P. Trent.
